How to make the most out of your trade show booth

There are three easy keys to making the most out of your tradeshow booth:

  • Have a system to gather visitor information
  • Showcase your product-set/sell your merchandise at the booth
  • Follow up follow up follow up

First and most importantly is to have a system to gather visitor information. You pay all this precious money to have the booth for this important trade show event, but are you prepared for the event itself? Make some forms up to gather visitor information (name, business name, email address, etc.) and get visitors to fill in their information for you in exchange for a free giveaway important to your visitors. Then when the show is over, get your staff to contact the winner with the promotion giveaway.

Next is to showcase your product-set or sell merchandise at the booth. This will show more people your brand and also bring in some hard-earned cash for your product-set quickly and easily. Be informative about your brands that you carry. Make sure all the prospects you meet that ask about your product-set are informed properly about the products they may wish to purchase.

Finally, you need to have a system for following up the leads from the forms where you gathered visitor information. Be sure your forms have a “how can we help you today” section or a “I’m looking for information on:” section that they can fill out. Choose a staff member to follow up on the filled-in forms. Remember to tailor your responses to their queries in the form information.
