Getting the most out of your social media experience

To get the most out of your social media experience marketing online, there are a couple of key things to do:

  • Choose your social media sites to frequent and stick to those couple
  • Post frequently (weekly if not daily)
  • Post content that is relevant to your readers (length not important)

First off, choose your social media sites to post in and stick to those few sites. There are loads of smaller social media sites out there to try if you wish but the popular ones are where the followers happen. X (formerly twitter), Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Reddit.com are big today. Literally thousands of followers can happen in a short space of time, and followers means traffic to your website if you post the right content. Traffic to your site obviously means potential for increased business.

Second, post in your chosen social media sites frequently. If you don’t have enough content to post daily, then post weekly at least to drive traffic to your website to convert visitors to customers quickly. Make sure your website can convert a prospect into a sale quickly and easily.

And finally, post content that is relevant to your readers. You shouldn’t be too concerned about the length of the posting, because – if it is written correctly – it isn’t really that important. A few tips on content:

  • Make it memorable (e.g. Nike’s slogan ‘just do it’)
  • Make it relevant to the reader (ideally it should solve a problem for them!)
  • Make it motivating for them to do something towards a conversion into a sale

And that’s it for now. As always, if you need more detail, feel free to email me directly at alisonsilbert@gmail.com and ask your question directly.

Happy marketing!
